Checking my website statistics recently and I’ve had a lot of views. I’m going to take a moment to address issues of fame and media attention.
As I suffer from schizophrenia, I will take time to address these issues. I am taking a risk to raise awareness about certain issues with my writing. It is true that my mental illness causes excessive paranoia, but I have also worked in different vocations which are of a nature that produce fear and anxiety issues around the idea of persecution anyway.
Being a debt collector and also an assistant in nursing has given me the training in order for me to develop coping mechanisms that are otherwise rare for those who suffer from schizophrenia. I also continue to take my medication, which serves as a stabilizing factor to my mind.
Schizophrenia is a mental illness that causes fear of persecution and paranoid thoughts. In workplace environments I have already been through many of these situations already. I would not recommend taking a spotlight role for other individuals with this illness. But I have received training from workplace environments in order to handle a certain level of stress.
In concerns to my involvement within the community and at large I ask that you be respectful of my illness and not cause more stress than what is required.
If I were ever to inflict damage upon myself, which I have in the past. Recognize that this is not the community at large’s fault, but rather a condition of my mental illness. And a risk that I take in publishing my material willingly. In consideration of this, life is stressful with or without media attention.
I realize that my audience is small (compared to bestselling authors), but growing and I appreciate them all.
Thank you all once again for the positive thoughts. Keep reading.
