Dogs Can Walk

I filmed the footage for this video on the 02/02/2020 which is kind of special in itself. I went down to Ocean Grove, Victoria, Australia. And then with my iPad shot some great scenic shots.

I then wrote a poem based on some of my experiences about living in Ocean Grove while I was in high school. I got my neighbour to read the lines of the poem, then played around with the audio using a free program called Audicity.

I know, I know, it should have been a palindrome poem. But I wonder what happens if you play the video backwards…

Anyway, here’s the poem:

The wind is the water,

Moving along like tides of the bay.

Breathless, shakiness… I feel it in my arms and knees.

Great magnitude of the coast.

Feel it, easy… Take it apart, at last.

Great gravitation, forcing me to the floor.

These picturisque scenes become a bore.

Night comes and blossoms bloom.

Restless shaking of the fists.

Anger, anger, at last.

The beach is alright at night with a flask.

Drinking heavy waves.

Small waves.

A great display.

Meeting me, meeting you.

I cannot decide.

All kids, every kid, is in for a rough ride.

Still beating heart, puncture wound.

Flesh at last.

Rabid animal, trapped in a cage.

Punishing your brain is all the rage.

Get up on stage.

Don’t overdress me.

Wait, wait, wait…

Hypocrite who eats his own heart.

I fill myself with this still.

Still… I fill myself with this.

Never in the end do we take the gutless wind.

Words cannot ease my mind.

Troubled mind, doubtful mind.

You can all go away.

Ah, peace at last.

Just the animals and I.

Working in the water, working in the shade.

Night comes and we all fade.

Taking back our cue.

To take the ride.

Life is like that, just a slide.

I’ve seen this place before I think.

A tinkerer’s tool is a workman’s trade.

Eat the Earth.

It gives us what we need.

We destroyed it my friend, it will make us bleed.

I hate this place, I want to leave.
